Pine Rivers Netball Association (PRNA) is now accepting applications from dedicated and passionate Coaches interested in leading our Representative Teams for the 2025 season.
PRNA is seeking Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Apprentice Coaches for the following programs:
- Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL): 16s, 18s, 23s, and Opens
- Senior State Age: 15s, 16s, and 18s
- Junior State Age: 12s, 13s, and 14s
- 11 Years Program: 11s
Coach Responsibilities:
As the leader of your team, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting players to reach their full potential during the representative season. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting goals and guidelines for the season.
- Developing training plans tailored to team and individual player development.
- Communicating with team management and ensuring alignment with PRNA values.
- Promoting fair play and sportsmanship.
- Planning game strategies and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensuring the safety and preparation of the team for each game.
Assistant Coach Responsibilities:
The Assistant Coach will support the Coach in all aspects and work on developing their own coaching skills. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in goal setting and training session execution.
- Ensuring safety standards are met for equipment and facilities.
- Supporting the Coach in game strategy and player supervision.
- Taking statistics and helping track player time on court.
Apprentice Coach Responsibilities:
The Apprentice Coach role is designed for those new to representative coaching, providing an opportunity to develop under the guidance of experienced coaches. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the execution of training sessions.
- Learning and applying coaching strategies under the guidance of the Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
- Observing and assisting in game-day preparation and management.
- Engaging in feedback sessions with the coaching team to improve coaching techniques.
- Supporting team operations as needed, including equipment management and player warm-ups.
Important Information:
- Eligibility: Applicants must be 15 years or older with preferred prior club experience.
- Availability: Coaches must be available for key events, including Senior State Age (April), Junior State Age (June), GBNL (May-September), Day and Twilight Carnivals (Dates TBC) and the 11’s Program (starting after Easter).
- Coaching Accreditation: Coaches are required to hold or be actively working towards Netball Queensland coaching accreditation.
- Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL): Intermediate or working towards intermediate.
- Senior State Age: Minimum Development working towards Intermediate.
- Junior State Age: Minimum Foundation working towards Development.
- 11 Years Program: Minimum Foundation working towards Development.
- Development Program: Selected Coaches are expected to attend the PRNA Development Program starting in February 2025 for Juniors. Coaches will also need to assist with the 10’s and 11’s development programs.
- Blue Card: All Coaches must hold a valid Blue Card.
